Duke of Edinburgh reflections |
|
On the weekend of the 27th and 28th of March, the CDHS Duke of Edinburgh Award Bronze group, as well as some silvers, went in there practice expedition around the Shawhead area!
The First day was drizzly, and there were no real hitches, until the silvers reached the river but did not stop the Bronze Group! After a wet morning, the day dried up and after a long walk, everyone reached Barnsoul Campsite, their campsite for the night. Some members of the group were a bit sore after the first day of walking and settled down for the night!
The second morning , everyone felt a little rough after a lack of sleep and a very uncomfortable night! After eventually setting off about one hour behind schedule, the second day went , again without many hitches. Eventually everyone reached the finish point after a little drizzle and a lot of complaining by the Silver Group!
All in all the expedition was a success and well done too all who participated!
